"Our Fit 2B Fit Workouts are designed for outdoor settings, no matter the season. Dressing for the cold or seeking shade from the heat is easy, and there's something truly special about working out in fresh air, enjoying the right amount of sunshine and a cool breeze.
Recently, I spoke with someone curious about our outdoor classes. When I mentioned we don’t incorporate running, dancing, jumping, or lunging, they were surprised—wondering how we could achieve an effective workout without those elements. So, what do we do instead?
We focus on strength training using dumbbells, exercise bands, tubes, and balls, alongside bodyweight exercises like push-ups and dips. Light cardio includes walking up hills and resistance walking, plus flow exercises that elevate your heart rate, including battling ropes. All of this is designed to be easy on the joints.
Our classes cater to those who are out of shape or looking to improve their fitness with minimal impact. We offer women-only sessions and will soon have co-ed classes. Unless severe weather strikes, all workouts are held outdoors. We are under cover if it's raining. Exercising in nature brings numerous benefits.
Having taught fitness classes since 1983 in various venues—from studios to gyms, resorts (even in Turkey), living rooms, and now outdoors—nothing compares to exercising in the open air! I've led outdoor sessions in the sweltering summers of Phoenix and the chilly winters of Denver, as well as in the pleasant climates of Southern California and now Sherwood, OR.
During 2020, when gyms closed, we transitioned to outdoor workouts. I discovered that even when it became possible to move indoors, many participants preferred to stay outside. Until you experience it for yourself, you may not realize what you’re missing!"
